Inclusive Education

It is of utmost importance at Highfields School that all children have access to, and opportunities engage in, the teaching and learning programs at the school regardless of their gender, race, religious affiliation, disability or other difference. This means the school endeavours to ensure there is no bias in the curriculum or its implementation and any differences are positively accommodated.

For example, where a child from another culture enrols in the school, staff endeavour to incorporate aspects of that culture into the program, with the child’s family generally asked to assist.  Boys and girls are equally encouraged to participate in all activities in a bid to reduce gender role stereotyping and children with additional needs are assisted to participate as fully as possible in all aspects of the program.
