Parents are invited to contribute to classroom experiences and school wide affairs through participation in the School Council, Highfields Parents Association and class parent activities. Families are also invited to attend special events throughout the year.
The aim of the Highfields Parents’ Association is to provide support to the school, to fundraise, to organise school wide events such as discos, auction evenings and an annual sport day, as well as to promote relationships and communication within the school community. Parents are welcome to join HPA meetings and volunteers are always welcome to support all aspects of the HPA’s work. The HPA also works closely with class parents.
Highfields is an independent, non denominational School managed by a Council of Governors. The Council is comprised of parents who currently have children enrolled at the school.
At least two parents from each class group act in a liaison role to foster communication among parents and act as a link between the school, class and home. Class parents also organise social events for their class.
Day to day involvement
Opportunity is given for parents to participate in class excursions and special assemblies. We also invite parents to share information and expertise with children in their child’s class when class investigations are relevant to their experience and/or work.
